Abstract

Civil engineering is one of the disciplines that has had the greatest influence on the structuring of the territory. This means that water supply and communication works usually have an outstanding historical and cultural importance. Based on the diverse presence of civil engineering constructions in the landscape, we analyse the possible cultural and heritage narratives that this legacy can support or in which it can participate.

Daniel Crespo Delgado, University Complutense of Madrid

PhD in Art History (UCM 2007) with the thesis "Un viaje para la Ilustración. El Viaje de España (1772-1794) de Antonio Ponz", which won the III Premio Nacional de Ensayo Pablo de Olavide (2008). Since April 2016 he has been associate professor in the art department of the Complutense University of Madrid and since 2019, assistant professor.After his time (2007-2009) at the Centro de Estudios Históricos de Obras Públicas y Urbanismo, a research body under the CEDEX-Ministerio de Fomento, from 2009 to 2019 he was scientific, editorial and programming coordinator of the Juanelo Turriano Foundation. Since 2018 he has been a member of the board of the Spanish Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies.
María Jesús Rosado-García, Polytechnic University of Madrid

Professor of Art History at the University of Granada. Specialist in the protection of historical heritage and, in particular, in the urban and territorial dimension of immovable heritage. Member of ICOMOS-Spain. Principal Investigator of several R+D+i projects such as the PAGO Project. President of Aproha (Spanish Professional Association of Art Historians). Lecturer in the Department of Art History at the University of Granada.
