Abstract

The present article presents a formal, evolutionary and iconographic study of the main processional custodians of the southern tower of the province of Cordoba, carried out in the 17th and 18th centuries. From the seventeenth century will be studied the custody elaborated by Antonio Alcántara for Santaella and of century XVIII, the specimens of Espejo, Baena, Cabra and Montalban of Cordova. The artistic analysis will be completed with documentary support, some unpublished documents will be brought to light and some mistakes of previous publications are correcte.
