POLICY

I. Digital Preservation Policy

This journal uses LOCKSS, CLOCKS and PKP PN to create an archiving system distributed among collaborating libraries, allowing them to create permanent journal archives for preservation and restoration purposes.

Revista de Arte aims to digitally preserve all the documents it holds in the long term. To this end, it has developed an action plan that includes basic measures to ensure the digital durability of scientific material:

  • Backups
  • Storage of documentation on servers and external storage units
  • Conversion of formats to more secure ones
  • Periodic checks on the integrity of the files to avoid corruption
  • Monitoring of the technological environment to anticipate possible migrations of obsolete formats or software
  • Digital preservation metadata
  • Use of DOI in new materials

For the purposes of digital preservation, the deposit of documents in easily readable formats (such as PDF) is encouraged. In the event that it is not possible to maintain the usability of all existing formats, the journal is committed to returning the files to their authors. The digital preservation policy will be reviewed annually by Norba. Revista de Arte.

II. Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that providing the public with free access to research supports greater global knowledge exchange.

III. Quality Policies

1. Scientific means of knowledge transfer

Norba. Revista de Arte has a Board of National and International Reviewers of recognized prestige, an International Scientific Committee, experts in the disciplines present in Spanish universities and research centres. The Scientific Committee advises and evaluates the publication, endorsing it scientifically and projecting it internationally. The Editorial Board issues reports propose topics and evaluates manuscripts. The Scientific Advisory Board submits the estimated manuscripts to the Norba. Revista de Arte publication for blind evaluation. Revista de Arte is a publication open to the different national and international researchers, to different Research Projects, Research Centers and Groups and Universities. Revista de Arte offers detailed information to its authors and collaborators about the process of revision of manuscripts and sets criteria, procedures, revision plan and maximum times strictly: a) the Previous phase of estimation/disestimation of manuscripts; b) Phase of evaluation of manuscripts with rejection/acceptance of the same, with a term of 4 weeks for its answer; c) Edition of the texts in preprint (digital) and printed in Spanish and English. Publishes abstracts in the language in which the article is written and in English. Norba. Revista de Arte accepts for evaluation manuscripts in several languages, currently, articles have been published in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian and English.

2. Publishing process quality

Norba. Revista de Arte maintains its edition of issues with a rigorous periodicity since its birth. An annual volume is published on a completely regular basis. It maintains, in turn, a strict coherence in its editorial line and in the subject matter of the publication. Since the 2019 volume, the magazine is offered in paper and OJS (e-print). 
All works published in Norba. Revista de Arte are subject to prior evaluation by experts from the Advisory Board and the Editorial Board, as well as Reviewers, independent researchers of prestige in the area. 
Collaborations reviewed at Norba. Revista de Arte is subject, as a minimum requirement, to the blind evaluation system, which guarantees anonymity in the review of manuscripts. In case of discrepancy between the evaluators, further reviews are carried out to determine the viability of the possible edition of the collaborations. 
 
Norba. Revista de Arte provides reasoned notification of the editorial decision, which includes the reasons for the prior estimation, subsequent revision, with acceptance or rejection of the manuscripts, with summaries of the opinions issued by the external experts. 
 
Norba. Revista de Arte has an Editorial Board, a Scientific Advisory Board and a list of Evaluators. It also has a director and the assistance of staff from the Publications Service of the University of Extremadura as well as the production, editing and distribution management of Editorial Sindéresis with offices in Madrid and Porto. This ensures the institutional and commercial network. 
 
The Scientific Advisory Board and the list of Reviewers are made up of professionals and researchers of recognized prestige, with no institutional link to the journal or the publisher, marking the evaluation and audit of the journal.

3. Scientific quality of the content

The articles that are published in Norba. Revista de Arte are basically oriented to the progress of the knowledge area of Art History.

IV. PLAGIARISM DETECTION POLICY

Norba. Revista de Arte is committed to the fight against plagiarism.

 
1. It invites its reviewers to be especially vigilant against plagiarism in their work. 
 
2. It makes available and uses anti-plagiarism detention systems.
 
3. It invites readers to detect any plagiarism and to inform us if for any reason any work has been found to have circumvented the filters or if there has been any error. For this purpose, we invite you to use the free license system: Viper Plagiarism Checker

With a percentage of 15% or more similarity (plagiarism threshold), the article will either be rejected or a report will be requested from the author, as considered by the Editorial Team.

This journal charges authors the prices shown below : 0,00 (EUR)
